Daniel A. Moye, 86, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord, on June 15, 2017. Dan was born in Seville, GA and moved to Miami, FL when he was 4 years old. He graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1950. At the age of 20, he joined the Miami Fire-Rescue Department as a Paramedic. After 25 years of distinguished service to the City of Miami, he retired disabled in 1976. He later moved, with his loving wife, Sandy, to Deland, FL in 1980.
Dan was a natural born artist specializing in professional photography, upholstery, and oil painting. He loved fishing, storytelling and was known to be a jokester.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandy, whom he adored; Mother-In-Law, Ada Lee Miner of DeLand, FL; a son, James Moye (Sherry) of Port Saint Lucy, FL; a daughter, Sherrie Broadway (Coyi) of Tampa, FL; a brother, Charles Moye (Marilyn) of Winter Park, FL; grandchildren, Daniel Cook (April), Meagan Moye and Jaxson Cook; great grandson, Jacob Moye, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughter, Dana Jo Tracy.
A celebration of life memorial will be held on July 8th at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, FL at 2:00 p.m., visitation starting at 1:00 a.m. Pastor Thomas White will be officiating. Online condolences may be made via
