Alberta Henely Obituary
Alberta Henely, 83 of DeLand passed away on April 9, 2011 at the Alliance Center for Health
Care in DeLand. She was born in Soperton, Georgia on February 6, 1928 and moved to DeLand
as a young girl. Alberta retired from Sherwood Medical and attended St. Peter Catholic
Church in DeLand. Survivors include her daughter Mary McDaniel and husband Robert and
grandson Harrison McDaniel, all of DeLand; brothers Joseph Foskey of DeLand and A. E.
Foskey of Soperton, Georgia; sister Alice Board of DeLand; and many nieces and nephews. A
funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 10am at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial
Chapel in DeLand with Chaplain Jim Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at DeLand
Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alliance Center
for Health Care, 130 West Armstong Avenue, DeLand, FL 32720 or Hospice of
Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119. Online condolences may be
made at www.allensummerhillfuneralhome.com. Allen-Summerhill DeLand is in charge.
