Alexander Gilmore Mann

Alexander "Alex" Gilmore Mann, 17, of De Leon Springs, Florida passed away on May 17, 2017 in De Leon Springs.


Alex was born in Daytona Beach, FL to Bradford and Teresa Mann on December 29, 1999. He was a K-12 Volusia Virtual Program student with many friends at Taylor Middle-High School. He was active with Boy Scout of America Troop 550 in DeLand, Florida. Alex enjoyed being on staff for Tuscarora District Camporee events and was Camp Chief for the 2016 Fall Camporee. He was a Life Scout in the planning stages of his Eagle Scout Project. Alex was an all around great kid with a personality that drew others to him. His smile and laughter will live in the hearts of all that knew him.


Alex is survived by his father; Bradford Mann, Mother; Teresa Mann, Sister and brother-in-law; Brittany and Ross Leider, Brothers; Nathan and Jacob Mann, his adoring niece Soleil Leider, Paternal Grandmother; Corliss Smith, Maternal Grandparents; Bob and Cheryl Gilmore, Uncle Robert and Aunt Melinda Gilmore, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Will Weddle, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Cheryl Mann, Uncle Matthew and Aunt Kim Mann, Cousins; Tristan Mann, Rachel Mann, Dustin Cerezo, Brendan Mann, Kayleigh Mann, Erin Mann, Conner Gilmore, Annabel Mann, Trey Cloutier, Thomas Wayne Zak, Sydnie Zak, Savannah Reid, Dillon Dery, Logan Dery, Lauren Dery, Ryan Shaughnessy, Conner LaMontagne, Amrah DeSimone, Katie Wright and an extended family full of Great Uncles, Great Aunts, "Aunts" and "Uncles" and countless friends.


The family of Alex Mann wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the multitude of family, neighbors and friends that have offered their condolences, thoughts, prayers, visits, flowers, comfort and food.


Alex's memorial service will be at 4:00pm Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of DeLand followed by a graveside service at Glenwood Cemetery. An "Alex Mann Fund" has been setup at Mainstreet Community Bank, 204 S. Woodland Blvd., DeLand, FL 32720 or any branch location.
