Annette E. Conklin, 87, of DeLand passed away March 11, 2017 at LindenLea ALF. She was born September 15, 1929 in Nyack, NY and moved to DeLand in 1957 from Sloatsburg, NY. Annette worked and retired as an operations support specialist for Florida Power Corporation. She was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Prayer Group. Annette volunteered at Florida Hospital DeLand, the City of DeLand Public Works Dept., the DeLand Public Library and Ridgecrest Nursing Home. She enjoyed working outdoors in her yard and taking care of her home and cooking, especially lasagna. She loved her pet dogs and reading. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Andrew, brothers Louis and Richard Casazza and grandson Justin. Survivors include her sons Andy Conklin (wife Jeannette) of DeLand and Alan Conklin (wife K.J.) of Geneva; sister Dorothy Brown of Boca Raton; grandson Andy Lee Conklin (wife Laura) and great-grandchildren A. J. Conklin, Christian Conklin and Kenlee Conklin and step-great-grandson Chase. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17th from 6-8 p.m. at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand, with a Wake service at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 10 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in DeLand.
