Carolyn Sue Slaydon

Carolyn Sue Slaydon, 90 of DeLand passed away October 16, 2021 at DeLand Manor. She was born on February 9, 1931 in Patrick County, Virginia. Carolyn was the courthouse records supervisor. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she ran the genealogy library. Carolyn also enjoyed square dancing and being with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence. Survivors include sons Michael Slaydon (Shannon) of DeLand and Jerry Slaydon (Angela) of DeLeon Springs; daughter Norma Slaydon Dean (David) of Orange City; grandchildren Erin O'Quinn, David "Chipper" Dean, Jr, Jennifer Heim, Kyser Dean, Ryan Slaydon, Justin Slaydon, Kate Slaydon and Jessica Slaydon; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 21st from 5-7pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home DeLand. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22nd at 1pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in DeLand. Burial will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
