Cecelia Rhoda Gorman Jackson Talton

Cecelia Jackson Talton, 88, was welcomed home with our Lord on December 29, 2018 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City after a long illness. Cecelia's Memorial service led by Rev. Dr. David W. Swink will be Sunday, January 20, 2019, 3 pm at Powell Chapel at First Baptist Church, 725 N Woodland Blvd.,DeLand FL. Cecelia was born in Chicago IL to James and Lelia Gorman on July 25, 1930. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 47 yrs, Sterling Jackson and second husband of 4 1/2 yrs Hubert Talton. After graduation from Business College, Cecelia held several secretarial positions, her last as Administrative Assistant for the Athletic Department of Stetson University for 25+years. During retirement she enjoyed working as a bookkeeper for a Dance Studio. Cecelia loved the Lord and praised him in faithfulness and with her beautiful voice. Music was her love, she enjoyed playing organ and piano at home and Church. She was preceded in death by her Brother, James Gorman and Sister, Jacqueline English. She is survived by her Son - Duane Jackson, DeLand, Daughter - Cathleen Jackson Reid (Wayne) DeLand and Daughter - Lori Jackson Pinner (David) DeLeon Springs. Also, Grandson Charles Motes Jr (Cindi), Granddaughter, Kathryn Cook (Joseph), Granddaughter, Sara Jackson and Grandson, Clinton Pinner (Summer), 6 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great great Grandchild. Cecelia was a loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City.
