Claudene Y. Lungren

Claudene was born into a farming family and realized the importance of hard work. She loved the simple country life, animals, agriculture and faith, but more than anything, she loved her family. Her friendliness and cheerful personality made her a special woman and was lovingly called the Mayor of Reynolds Road.
Claudene volunteered at the Volusia County Cattleman's Cracker Day and after retiring, she also enjoyed volunteering each year at the Volusia County Fair. She supported her community whenever needed and always put others before herself. She was a member of Farm Bureau and also First Baptist Church of DeLeon Springs.

A day didn't go by that Claudene wasn't sitting in her rocking chair, waving and saying hello to everyone passing through the neighborhood. The rocking chair won't be the same without her smiling face and friendly wave. Our angel on earth has become our angel in heaven.
She is survived by her son, Claude (Lisa) Lungren of DeLeon Springs; a daughter, Carmen Aponte of DeLeon Springs; 2 brothers Richard (Diane) Yelvington and Mack (Cheryl) Yelvington of Seville; grandsons, Landon (Melodie) and Craig Lungren and 1 great-grandchild, Emily Hester and multiple nieces and nephews.
The service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10 am at First Baptist Church of DeLeon Springs. Burial will follow in Seville Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.allensummerhill.com. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home DeLand is in charge of her arrangements.
