Fondren L. Wiggins, 81 of Pierson passed away January 17, 2019 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Orange City. He was born in Coolidge, Georgia on September 17, 1937 and was the owner/operator of Ray's Plumosa. He was also warehouse manager for the Daytona News. Fondren was a member of Emporia Baptist Church and he enjoyed gardening and fishing. He is survived by his daughters Laura Carlisle (Dean) and Lisa Waters (Vernon), both of Pierson; brother Harvey "PeeWee" Wiggins of Daytona Beach; sisters Faye Fuller of Port Orange and Donita Price of Holly Hill; grandchildren Jennifer Green (Heath), Elizabeth Ross (Brad), James Carlisle, Eric Waters (Kelsey) and Brittany Carlisle and great-grandchildren Kylea Green, Jackson Green, Peyton Waters, Everly Waters, Callie Ross and Morgan Ross. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22nd from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd at 10am at Emporia Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Pierson United Methodist Cemetery.
