Hubert "Horsefly" Wilkes, 81 of DeLeon Springs passed away October 14, 2021 at AdventHealth DeLand. He was born in Lyons, Georgia on March 22, 1940 and was a fern grower. He was a member of Barberville Baptist Church, Central Florida Fox Hunters Association and Haw Creek Hunt Club. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Sharon; sons Alfred and Barry; daughter Kim and sisters Josephine Barnard and Pauline (Eddie) Cribbs. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 19th from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at 10am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with burial to follow at Midway Cemetery in Barberville.
