Our loving son and brother, Jason Patrick Ammon, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 10, 2020. He was 41 years old.
Jason was born in Ravenna, Ohio on May 28, 1979. After a short time in Ohio, Jason's family moved to Florida. He was a graduate of Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida, class of 1997 and graduated from The Florida State University in 2001 with a finance degree. He also attended architecture school at Florida Atlantic University in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and was working as an intern architect in his father's firm.
Jason was first and foremost a child of God. He loved well. He cared deeply. His mercy was endless. His humor was unmatched. He was passionate about Christian counseling, architecture, sports, (especially football) politics and comedy. He had several nieces and nephews he loved to spend time with. He was one of the kindest people on this earth with a heart of gold. His love for others was seen in his actions daily. He literally gave the shirt off his back to a homeless man and later in the day, took him to church wearing that shirt. Jason noticed him crying during a song.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Hayward and Patricia (Pat) Hall of Sarver, Pennsylvania and Rev. Jack and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Ammon of DeLand, Florida and his cousins Mary and Christina Ammon of Stuart Florida. He is survived by his parents Jay and Diane Ammon of Longwood, Florida, two sisters, Laurie Hanson of Winter Park, Florida and Stacey Simpson of Orlando, Florida (and their husbands Craig Hanson and Scott Simpson), his nephews Jack and Ben Hanson of Winter Park, Florida and Everett and Trey Simpson of Orlando, Florida and his niece, Ella Simpson of Orlando, Florida as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pastor Owen Stricklin will officiate at a private memorial service for Jason at the First United Methodist Church in Deland, Florida.
