Jerome Phillip Lasher, 74, of DeLand, FL passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Jerome was born in Johnson City, NY on March 24, 1938. He served in the US Army and attended The First Presbyterian Church, DeLand. He was a member of Bible Study Fellowship and the Greater Daytona Dachshund Kennel Club. Jerome enjoyed showing Auggie winning several awards for best in breed. He enjoyed remodeling, RV traveling and spending time with his family. He was a master carpenter specializing in finish work; building several residential, commercial and industrial buildings in Central Florida including several churches and remodeling the DeLand Train Station. Jerome also retired from Volusia County Library Services. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Linda Lasher; sons, Steve (Cynthia) Lasher and Bill (Shannon) Lasher both of DeLand, FL; brothers, Warren (Anna) Lasher of Lacey, WA, Daniel (Sharon) Lasher of Charlotte, NC, Charles (Wilma) Lasher of Binghamton, NY; sisters, Kathy Lasher and Linda (Leo) Orynawka both of Binghamton, NY; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, June 29, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in DeLand, FL with Michael Bodger officiating. Online condolences for the family may be left at
