Kathryn Bertha Peltz Trahan, 98 years old, passed away July 10, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 21, 1922. She married Claude "Bill" Trahan on April 13, 1946 and was married for 59 years until his death in 2005. Kathryn graduated from Towson State Teachers College (now Towson University) with a Bachelor's degree, and then a Master's equivalent from the University of Maryland. She taught primary grades 1, 2, and 3 in Baltimore City Schools, then became an Elementary School Librarian, working with grades K-6. Kathryn retired from teaching and moved to DeLand in 1976. She worked for Bob Cook and the Holiday House Corporation as a librarian. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Stovka (Les) of DeLand; three grandchildren, Ryan Stovka (Sandra) of Delray Beach, Kristin Shaughnessy (Michael) of New Smyrna Beach and Greg Stovka (Wanna) of DeLand; and five great-grandchildren, Kaya, Colin, Connor, Katelin, and Kai.
