On May 6, 2021, Louie J. Brunson, loving husband and father of four, passed away at the age of 84. Louie was born on February 20, 1937, in Slocomb, Alabama, to Louie Frank and Lucille Brunson. His parents, and sister, Martha Frank Renfroe, preceded him in death. Louie is survived by Gladys Brunson, his loving wife of nearly 64 years, and their children
Michael Brunson, Mona Brunson, Richard Brunson and Donna Lehneis; grandchildren Heather Bradshaw, Sheena Akridge, and Brandon Brunson; great-grandchildren Collier Bradshaw, Zachary Akridge, Chase Akridge and Cyrus Brunson; sister, Sara Lou Toole; and several nieces,
nephews, cousins and devoted friends. At the age of 16, Louie enlisted in the U.S. Army, retiring after 20+ years of honorable service to
his country, including tours of duty in the Korean and Vietnamese Wars. He had a passion for dogs, horses, and card games. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his ability to engage anyone in conversation, having never met a stranger. And although he wore
many hats in his life, none meant more to him than that of Husband, Father, Brother and Friend! A service will be held on May 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Rd., Pensacola, FL 32508, (850) 453-4108. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Wounded Warriors Project, or your local animal shelter.
