Lyndel Lee Welch

Lyndal Lee Welch, 90 of DeLand passed away August 4, 2021 at Certus Senior Care in Orange City. She was born in Hartsfield, Georgia on October 8, 1930 and was a long time resident of New Smyrna Beach and DeLand. Lyndal was a 1948 graduate of Pierson-Taylor High School and a member of Kepler Road Baptist Church. She had a servants heart and was always caring for her family and others. She owned Maryes Apiary in New Smyrna Beach, where she was a bee keeper and was known as the "Queen Bee". Lyndal loved riding horses and gospel, bluegrass and country music. Lyndal was predeceased by her first love and husband of 29 years, Frank Maryes and her second husband Floyd Hickox. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, William; sons Ray Maryes and Billy Maryes; daughter Marilyn (Steve) Brown and Joy (Rick) Walker; grandchildren Josh, Kara, Matthew, Ashley, Rory and Shay and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vitas Hospice of Volusia County. Services will be held at a later date.
