Marie Gidus

Marie Gidus, 90 of DeLand. passed away on May 19, 2021 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Orange City. She was born in Springboro, PA and moved to DeLand a year ago from Orlando. She was a homemaker. Marie was the last living founding member of St. Stephen the Protomartyr Orthodox Church in Longwood and her father was a founding member of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Edinboro. PA, where she will be laid to rest. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Timothy and her son Stephen Gidus. Survivors include her sons Paul Gidus (Tammy) of Orlando and James Gidus (Carol) of Lehigh Acres; daughter Ann Marie Mecera (Gust) of DeLand; daughter-in-law Tara Gidus; grandchildren Juliana Federoff (Mark), Justina Mecera Ross (Philip), Natalie Gidus, Lydia Gidus, Luke Gidus, Basil Gidus, Levi Gidus, Christian Gidus and Jessica Gidus and great-grandsons John and Michael Federoff. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22nd at 11am at St. Stephen the Protomartyr Orthodox Church in Longwood with the family receiving friends 1 hour prior to the service.
