Minie Sanderson Obituary

Minie "Skippy" Sanderson, 77 of Pierson passed away October 8, 2018 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. She was born in Alma, GA on January 4, 1941. Skippy was a rural letter carrier for the US Postal Service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pierson, the VFW and she enjoyed flower arranging quilting and sewing. She was predeceased by her husband Richard and daughter Terry Wilder. Survivors include sons Ted Haynes of Pierson and Doyle and Wendy Sanderson of Deltona; step-daughter Joy Barfield of De Leon Springs; sisters Dixie Turner of Pierson and DeAnn Kitay of Ormond Beach; 6 grandchildren, Heather White, Katie Haynes, Tony Haynes, Heather Malmborg, Erica and Jessie Wilder and 2 great-grandchildren McKenzie Mabry and Penelope Haynes. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 11th from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12th at 11am at First Baptist Church of Pierson with Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Pierson United Methodist Cemetery.
