In loving memory of Bonita (Bonnie) Mae Bikos, 91, who passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2022. Bonnie was born on November 3rd, 1930, in Endicott, New York to Willard and Marian Frutiger, who preceded her in death. Bonnie taught music education in upstate New York schools for approximately 20 years and then volunteered at local hospitals in NY and VA for another 20 years. Bonnie retired to Charlottesville at the end of the 1970s, then to the Flagler Beach area in the 1990s, and finally to the John Knox Village community in the early 2000s. Bonnie loved music, Boston Terriers, traveling, and taking pictures. Bonnie sang in school and church choirs throughout her life starting at the age of 12. She always had a dog at her side until her last dog passed a year ago. Bonnie loved to travel across the USA and to places around the world. In her later years Bonnie continued to enjoyed trips to Charlottesville and to western New York to spend time with family and friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of DeLand. She was a past member of the South Plains Presbyterian Church in Keswick, VA. Bonnie is survived by her sister Norine Allen of Boulder CO, her son’s family Bruce, Lynette, Tinley, and Trevor of Seattle WA, and many nieces and nephews through the Frutiger and Bikos families.
