Florence D. Vaughn

Florence Dillard Vaughn, "Flossie" was born on November 29th, 1942.  And entered heaven on Saturday, March 18th 2023, at the age of 80.

Flossie lived the majority of her life in the beautiful Town of Volusia, where orange groves were abundant, majestic oak trees still stand, and the banks of the St. Johns River are nearby.

She is preceded in death by her father, Elisha Lee Ander Sherill Dillard, and her mother Florence Catherine Ponteaux Dillard. Descendants of the pioneering, Dillard Family. Also, preceded in death by her husband of almost 58 years, James Robert Louis Vaughn. And her brothers Tom, Junior, Johnny, and sister Hilma.

Flossie is survived by her sisters, Helena, Bootsie, and LouEllen. Her children, Keith Vaughn (Teresa) - Wake Forest, NC

Kevin Vaughn (Corie)- Emporia , FL and daughter Kandice Huffstutler (Michael) - Seville, FL.  Flossie has 6 grandchildren, Michael Huffstutler (Michelle), Morgan Huffstutler (Amber), Megan Jutras (Dylan), Nic Vaughn (Bethany), Molly Neeley (Marquez), and Josh Vaughn.  She also has 7 great grandchildren, Eric, Suvi, Allison, Ava, Kaisley, Arya, and Johnathan. And lots of nieces and nephews, whom she loved all very much.

Arrangements for Flossie are Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home located at 126 E. New York Avenue, Deland, Florida 32724 with visitation from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, Celebration of Life from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with Reception to follow at Volusia Lodge #77 F. & A.M. located at 210 E.  State Road 40, Barberville, Florida at 1: 00 pm following the service.

Flossie loved her family, friends, and community. She was especially proud to be a great grandchild of a Founding Family of the town of Volusia. Thank you for taking the time to honor her.
