Glenn Pendleton Obituary

Glenn Edward Pendleton II passed away peacefully at his home on July 30 th , 2022. Glenn, or “Mepaw” as his adoring grandkids knew him, was born on November 10 th , 1958 in the city of Deland to Glenn and Florence Pendleton of Deland. Glenn grew up in Deland where he graduated from Deland High School class of 1976 and began his lifelong career with Florida Public Utilities (FPU). Glenn was an absolute fixture within the community of Deland and was very proud of his commitment to FPU and enjoyed his FPU family very much. Glenn loved to shoot the breeze with his co- workers throughout the day, often times resulting in Saturday or Sunday work trips to get his ACTUAL work done. He was the man everyone stopped to see and say hi to every day. He should have charged an entrance fee to his office and then he could have easily retired early. Glenn was the funniest guy we knew, a prankster, professional dad joke teller and master scarer. No dark hallway will ever be the same again without him hiding somewhere in it…BABOOM! He would exclaim, as he popped out of the shadows to make your heart skip a beat. But then he would begin that soul healing laughter that instantly made everything okay. Glenn loved shooting sports, was a full-time family man and enjoyed the simple things in life like new pens, fancy watches, new and interesting gadgets, tools, and everything in-between. He was our little nerd. Glenn could always be counted on for any battery every needed during birthday and Christmas gift openings for his grandkid’s new toys or annoying electronics that he would buy and laughably send home with their parents. Thanks Glenn…
Glenn was one of the hardest working people we knew and was one of the kindest, gentlest souls we ever had the pleasure of being around. Although Glenn never liked to be the center of attention, one couldn’t help to gravitate to his presence no matter where he was or what he was doing. Glenn will forever be missed, but heaven was getting pretty boring, and they needed his humor and dad jokes more. Angels gotta laugh too! Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carol Pendleton, his daughter April Sapp, his son Michael Sapp along with his wife Kelsey Sapp, five wild and adoring grandchildren, Reagan Sapp, Wyatt Sapp, Mason Sapp, Delilah Sapp and Emmett Sapp, his father Glenn Pendleton, his sister Debra Pendleton and his nephew Travis Lantz along with his wife Amber Lantz and their children Aston and Nayvin. Glenn was preceded in death by his mother Florence Pendleton and his son Kyle Sapp. A celebration to honor and celebrate Glenn’s life and humor will be held on Tuesday, August 9 th at The Center at Deltona on 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. in Deltona between the hours of 6:00-9:00pm.The family requests to bring any great memories, stories, or photographs of Glenn to the celebration. No dressing up! Glenn would want casual attire for everyone in attendance. Be there or be square. And as Glenn would say, talk at cha later!
