Glenna Colleen Long, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away at the age of 91 surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply on February 24, 2026. Born in Union City, Pennsylvania, Glenna was the eldest sister of nine children and carried the responsibility and strength that often come with that role. Her life was defined by devotion—to her family, to her home, and to the people she loved.
In the early 1970s, Glenna and Robert moved their family to Florida to be close to her best friend Shirley Dixon, where she built a beautiful life filled with warmth, generosity, and countless homecooked meals. Cooking was one of the greatest ways she showed love, and she took immense joy in feeding her family and gathering everyone together as often as possible. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, and many of the family’s fondest memories were made around her table.
Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Long, with whom she shared 69 years of love and companionship.
She is survived by her three children: Debbie Long, Robert Long, Jr. (Melissa), and Michael Long (Lisa). She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, a doting great-grandmother to eighteen great-grandchildren, and a delighted great-great-grandmother to one precious child. Her legacy lives on in each of them, carried forward in their traditions, their stories, and the love she instilled in her family.
Glenna will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her unwavering dedication to family, and the countless moments of love she created throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
We would like to give special thanks for the loving care provided by Debbie Creasy Caldwell and Gentiva Hospice.
