James Cornelius “Corny” Mines

Corny passed away on Sept. 15th, 2022 at home. He was born in DeLand on October 28th, 1935 to Pulaski Battle Mines and Maggie Jane Edmonds Mines and spent his entire life in DeLand except for his service in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. He worked for Greens Dairy while still in school and then on to T. G. Lee Foods for 37 years before his retirement. He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in DeLand. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Dede Yeager Mines, his daughter Melanie Taft, one brother and three sisters along with many good friends. Surviving are son Rick (Denise) of DeLand, Mike (Janet) of Samsula and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Corny's request there will be no service or gathering.
