Robert Smoke Kennedy

Robert Smoke Kennedy, 80 of DeLand, passed away on September 16, 2023 at the AdventHealth HospiceCare in Orange City. He was born on November 1, 1942 in Rockledge, Florida and was a lifetime resident of DeLand. Robert was a member of First Methodist Church in DeLand and was part of the old guard with Prudential Insurance, retiring as a district agent. He enjoyed fishing, C. B. radio, hunting and tinkering around his yard. He also loved traveling, having visited all 50 States, Canada, Europe and Australia and he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Sandra, and brothers Charles Jones, and George B, Smoke and half brother William Allen Smoke (Butch). Survivors include sons Steven R. Kennedy (Jennifer) of Pierson and Darren L. Kennedy (Nicole) of DeLand; brother Tommy Jones of South Carolina; half brother Barry Williams of Ormond Beach; sister Linda Jones of South Carolina, and grandchildren Mallory Peatt (Jason), Kaylee Kennedy, Brandon Kennedy, Garrett Kennedy and Savannah Kennedy. The family will receive friends at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 29th from 6-8pm, with a service at 7pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday. September 30th at 9am at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
